The Rev. Kobus Gerber was the first general secretary of the General Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church (South Africa), serving from 2004 to 2015, and a former member of the Executive Committee of the World Communion of Reformed Churches and one of its predecessor bodies. A passionate seeker of justice and of using good governance to get there, Gerber worked tirelessly to advance the message of Jesus Christ in his native South Africa and around the world. Gerber passed away 6 August 2020 awaiting heart bypass surgery.
